If you’ve ever wanted to play a golf course surrounded by endless sand dunes and then recover in a private villa with a sauna and hot tub, Sand Valley might be your spot.

In the Polish countryside, they have massive sand bunkers, huge and lightning-fast greens, a full championship layout, and villas that make post-round recovery legendary.

Here’s how our trip went, from battling the greens and navigating sand everywhere, to villa life, good vibes, and everything in between.

Key Takeaways

If you’re short on time, here’s what you need to know about Sand Valley Golf Resort:

  • Championship course with wide fairways and brutally good greens
  • Endless sand gives the course a unique look and challenge
  • Private villas with sauna and hot tub = elite recovery
  • Beginner-friendly off the tee, demanding around the greens
  • On-site restaurant has great reviews (we sadly missed it)

And if you want to see how the full 18 holes played out, the complete round is live on our YouTube channel.

The Golf Course ⛳

Sand Valley is built around an 18-hole championship course, paired with a 6-hole par-3 course, making it a great destination for both serious golfers and more relaxed rounds.

The defining feature is the sand. It’s everywhere, fairways flow through it, bunkers blend into the natural terrain, and at times you’re literally driving the carts across sand.

The course feels more like a desert-style layout than a traditional European parkland course, and that’s what makes it special.

Despite the dramatic look, the course is very playable. Fairways are generous, inviting you to swing freely. That said, once you get closer to the green, it gets much harder.

Course Difficulty & Design

Off the tee, Sand Valley gives you confidence. The landing areas are wide and forgiving, which makes it enjoyable even if you’re not striping it all day.

However approach shots and putting are a different story.

The greens are:

  • Huge
  • Fast
  • Firm
  • Full of movement

You can hit a great shot and still end up scrambling if you’re on the wrong tier. The staff warned us ahead of time that holes like the 3rd and the 10th don’t give much away.

And we can confidently say they were completely right. It’s a course that rewards smart play and punishes lazy decisions, especially inside 100 meters.

Greens, Conditions & Overall Feel

The conditions at Sand Valley were outstanding.

The greens rolled incredibly pure and fast, honestly some of the best we’ve played all year. They demanded commitment on every putt, and even short tap-ins weren’t guaranteed.

Around the greens, creativity was key. Miss long or short and suddenly you’re facing tricky chips, slopes, and run-offs that turn par into a real challenge.

Carts, Practice & Small Details 🚗

The carts deserve a mention. They’re modern, comfortable, and equipped with screens that show hole layouts and yardages.

Cruising through sandy paths between holes felt more like an off-road experience than a standard golf round. Little touches like this added to the overall premium feel.

And yes, despite plenty of water and natural areas, we were told to keep an eye out for beavers. We didn’t see a single one, but the mystery lives on.

Villa Life 🏡

Instead of a traditional hotel, Sand Valley offers private villas right next to the course, and this setup is perfect for a golf trip.

Each villa includes:

  • A private sauna
  • A hot tub
  • Spacious living areas
  • Comfortable bedrooms
  • Outdoor space to relax post-round

After a long day on fast greens and sandy lies, heading straight back to the villa for sauna and hot-tub recovery was unbeatable.

One night we even ended up watching Happy Gilmore 2 together in the living room right after it dropped, and the boys loved every second of it.

And for the record, we’re happy to report that we didn’t hit any villas with golf balls during our stay. Always a win.

Food & Dining 🍽️

Unfortunately, we didn’t manage to visit the on-site Finka restaurant during our stay. Timing and villa comfort got the better of us.

That said, the restaurant has excellent reviews online, and we were told they make extremely good burgers.

It’s clearly a highlight for many visitors and something we’ll definitely make time for during our next visit.

Final Thoughts

Sand Valley delivers something genuinely different.

The combo of dramatic sand features, immaculate greens, relaxed countryside setting, and private villas makes this one of the most unique golf resorts we’ve played in Europe.

It’s challenging without being intimidating, luxurious without feeling overdone, and perfect for a stay-and-play golf trip with friends.
